Pultruded FRP Grating ShapesPultruded Fiberglass Grating comes in three major shapes: T-bar, I-bar, and Heavy Load bar. The type of grating chosen will depend on the application. Fiberglass Grating DimensionsWith pultruded fiberglass grating it is much more critical to understand how to order dimensions than with molded fiberglass grating. With molded grating, because the FRP is built from a mold, the grate has equal strength in both directions. Pultruded grating has bearing bars which should be bearing the weight, and cross-bars to hold it together. It is absolutely critical that the length of the bearing bars is holding the weight of the application. The length, or span, describes the bearing bars. Ask yourself, "What am I spanning?" That will help in knowing which dimension is the "length". |

The FRP Pultrusion ProcessGlass strands or rovings are pulled in on rollers, covered in a mat, and soaked in a resin bath which permeates the entire FRP pultrusion. Glass and resin are the two major ingredients for pultruded fiberglass grating. While there are a wide variety of resins available, we keep stock of FRP grating in Vinyl Ester, a top-notch resin that has elevated corrosion resistance and higher temperature capabilities.

Features and BenefitsCorrosion Resistant: vinyl ester or other premium grade resins incorporate a synthetic veil to provide optimum performance in the harshest of environments. Lightweight, robist and easy to install: fiberglass grating is less than half the weight of steel grating, eliminating the need for heavy lifting equipment when installing or carrying out regular maintenance checks. Easy Fabrication: FRP grating panels can be easily carried by two men, cut and fabricated on-site with regular hand-tools. Maintenance Free: no de-scaling, sand-blasting or painting necessary. The inherent corrosion resistance eliminates the need for ongoing maintenance. Fire Retardant: different levels of fire performance are available depending on the requirements of the application. Slip-Resistant: permanenty-bonded epoxy-coated grit surface on fiberglass grating provides a safe, long lasting, slip resistant walking surface. Electrically and Thermally Non-Conductive: offering greater levels of worker safety in the toughest environments. |
ISO CertifiedAll pultruded fiberglass grating is ISO 9001 certified.
