Molded fiberglass grating is manufactured in an open, heated mold system. Continuous E-glass rovings are placed in the mold in alternating layers and completely wetted out with resin. This continuous process produces an integral, one piece construction which provides excellent corrosion resistance as well as bi-directional strength. There are a number of different molds available resulting in a extensive range of panel sizes, thickness and mesh patterns.

RESINS

The standard resin for all Fiberglass Molded Grating is Vinyl Ester. Other options include: Isophthalic polyester, Ortho, and Phenolic. See the Resin Selection Chart for more info.

MESH SIZES

Standard mesh sizes of molded fiberglass grating include:

• 1.5" x 1.5" square mesh
• 1" x 4" rectangular mesh
• 3/4" x 3/4" micro-mesh 

THICKNESS

Thickness of molded floor grate ranges from 1" to 1.5" depending on the mesh size chosen.

COLORS

Our standard grating comes in gray (the grit surface) and yellow (non-slip, concave surface). Other color options are available upon request.

SURFACES

There are a wide variety of surfaces available. Standard surfaces for molded fiberglass grating are grit and non-slip (concave). Other surface types will need to be special ordered.
