They can see the price up front, and get the whole thing, including delivery, right from their phone. Now that’s cool.”

The staff have been surprised at some of the ways online purchases have come in. For example, a midnight purchase, or something over the weekend. “We’d originally asked ourselves, can we set this up so someone can buy FRP Grating in their pajamas. Well, we didn’t think that would actually happen, but it did,” says Neuman.

Online shopping carts on mobile devices is not a new concept – stores have been offering this kind of service ever since smart phones became a reality. However, to offer this kind of service for an industrial product line, that generally requires a laborious Quotation and Purchase Order process, is groundbreaking.
